Where to Buy Semaglutide in India — City-by-City Guide 2026
By GLP1Score Team | Published 2026-04-13 | 10 min read
Semaglutide is now available across India following the March 2026 patent expiry. Over 18 generic brands have launched, with monthly costs starting at ₹1,290. But finding it near you — especially with proper cold chain handling — requires knowing where to look.
Important: Semaglutide is a prescription-only medication. You must have a valid prescription from a registered doctor before purchasing from any pharmacy. No legitimate source will sell it without one.

Online Pharmacies (All India)
Online pharmacies are the most convenient option for most Indians. They offer home delivery, often stock multiple brands, and handle cold chain logistics professionally.
Tata 1mg — India's largest online pharmacy. Lists 10+ semaglutide brands. Upload your prescription, select your brand, and get delivery in 1–3 days for metros, 3–5 days for tier-2 cities. Cold chain delivery available for all injectable brands. Prices match or beat local pharmacies.
PharmEasy — Wide brand selection with competitive pricing. Offers subscription refills so you never run out. Cold chain packaging included for injectables. Accepts digital prescriptions. Delivery in 1–4 days depending on location.
Apollo 24|7 — Backed by Apollo Hospitals. Reliable cold chain. You can also book a teleconsultation with an Apollo endocrinologist and get your prescription digitally — then order directly. Delivery in 1–3 days in most cities.
Netmeds — Good availability in tier-2 and tier-3 cities where other platforms may have gaps. Upload prescription, order, and track delivery. Cold chain packaging for temperature-sensitive medications.
Cold chain delivery tips: Always check that the package arrives in insulated packaging with a cold pack. The outer box should not feel warm. Open immediately upon delivery and store in your refrigerator at 2–8°C. If the package feels warm or the cold pack is fully melted, reject the delivery and request a replacement.
Retail Pharmacy Chains
If you prefer buying in person, these national chains stock semaglutide in most locations.
Apollo Pharmacy — 5,000+ stores across India. The largest retail pharmacy chain. Most locations stock at least 2–3 semaglutide brands. They maintain proper cold storage. Call your nearest store to confirm availability before visiting.
MedPlus — 4,000+ stores concentrated in South and West India. Strong presence in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune. Stock varies by location. Call ahead.
Wellness Forever — 350+ stores primarily in Mumbai, Pune, and Goa. Premium chain with reliable cold storage and knowledgeable pharmacists. Good brand variety.
Netmeds Retail — Physical stores in select metros. Tied to the Netmeds online platform. Good availability of popular brands.
Tip: If your local pharmacy does not stock the brand you want, ask them to order it. Most pharmacies can procure any approved brand within 2–3 working days from their distributor.

How to Verify Your Semaglutide is Genuine
With 18+ brands flooding the market, verifying authenticity matters. Here is what to check every time you buy.
Hologram sticker: Most reputable manufacturers include a holographic seal on the outer packaging. Check for it. It should shimmer when tilted and should not peel off easily.
Batch number: Every box has a batch number printed on it. Note this number. You can verify it by calling the manufacturer's customer care line or checking their website. Natco, Alkem, and Dr. Reddy's all offer batch verification.
Expiry date: Check the expiry date on both the outer box and the vial or pen itself. They must match. Semaglutide typically has a shelf life of 18–24 months. Do not accept any product with less than 6 months before expiry.
QR code: Some brands include a scannable QR code on the box. Scan it with your phone camera. It should link to the manufacturer's product verification page.
Physical inspection: The liquid should be clear and colourless. If it appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains particles, do not use it. Return it to the pharmacy immediately.
Buy from authorised sources: Hospital pharmacies, national retail chains (Apollo, MedPlus), and major online platforms (1mg, PharmEasy, Apollo 24|7) source directly from manufacturers. Avoid buying from unverified sellers on general e-commerce platforms.
What You Need Before Buying
Before you purchase semaglutide, make sure you have these three things ready.
1. A valid prescription. You need a prescription from a registered medical practitioner. This is typically an endocrinologist, diabetologist, or obesity medicine specialist. General physicians can also prescribe it. The prescription must include the drug name, dose, frequency, and duration. Most pharmacies require a physical or digital copy.
2. Recent blood tests. Your doctor will likely require these before prescribing: fasting blood glucose, HbA1c, thyroid panel (TSH, T3, T4), kidney function (creatinine, eGFR), liver function (ALT, AST), and lipid profile. Some doctors also check amylase and lipase to rule out pancreatitis risk. Get these done before your appointment to avoid delays.
3. A refrigerator. This sounds basic but it matters. Semaglutide must be stored at 2–8°C before first use. After opening, most pen formats can be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 28 days, but vials should remain refrigerated. If you travel frequently, invest in a small medication cooler bag (₹500–1,500 on Amazon).
